- 1 tsp turmeric powder

- For Tadka-
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 inch ginger, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 2 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 cup green peas
- As per taste Salt
- To To Serve -
- as required Ghee
- as required Curd
- As required Pickle
- some Papad
Steps to make to make Moong Dal Khichdi
- Assembled all mentioned ingredients at one place.

- In a pressure cooker, add ghee, moon dal and roast well


- Add rice, salt to taste, carrots, water as required, turmeric powder, red chilli powder mix well and cook for 1-2 whistles.


- In another kadai, add ghee, oil, cumin seeds and let it splutter.


- Now add green chillies, ginger,onion and saute till its translucent.



- Then add salt to taste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, hing and saute well.

- Now add green peas saute well on medium flame and add cooked dal rice and mix well until combined.


- Now add little water, cover and cook it for 3-4 mins and it is ready to serve


- Serve with drizzle some extra ghee on top.
